Community Day school Pre-K
Our Pre-K at Community Day School is a vibrant, nurturing community where children laugh, learn, discover, and play each day.
Why Pre-K at Community Day School?
In Pre-K at Community Day School, your child will be welcomed as a unique individual and will be deeply known and loved by our caring and professional staff.

What can you expect from a CDS Pre-K experience?
- Reggio Emilia philosophy: Our curriculum is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, which embraces each child as an active participant in their education. Children are empowered to pursue their passions and satisfy their curiosity in ways that are age and interest appropriate as their families and teachers work alongside them. The children in our classroom are excited about learning because it unfolds naturally as they explore the world around them through hands-on activities and play.
- Jewish learning: Our goal is to seamlessly infuse Hebrew language and Jewish learning throughout the day. We learn about mitzvot as we care for our classroom, count in Hebrew as we line up, participate in school-wide holiday celebrations, and discover Judaism as we explore our interests.
- School community: A unique advantage of a Pre-K through 8th Grade Jewish day school is the connection developed with older children who become friends, mentors, and role models. One of the distinctive opportunities provided to our students is assignment into “Shvatim” (the Twelve Tribes of Israel). Every member of the school community is part of a multi-age tribe that stays together throughout their time at CDS.
- Parent-school-community partnership: We welcome parents, grandparents, siblings, extended family, and caring community members to spend time in our classroom—reading a story, sharing a passion, or just helping out.
