3-Year-old Program

Our new 3-year-old program at Community Day School encourages creativity, exploration, and self-discovery in a nurturing and caring environment filled with the joy of Jewish learning and living.

Your child's home away from home

In the 3-year-old program at Community Day School, your child will be welcomed as a unique individual and will be deeply known and loved by our caring and professional staff.

What can you expect from a CDS 3-year-old experience?

  • Reggio Emilia philosophy:  Our curriculum is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, which embraces each child as an active participant in their own experiences. The children are given the freedom to explore their world and their social connections in ways that make sense to them. Our teachers work with our youngest learners to find ways to bring their curiosities to life through sensory experiences and play. These fun connections to learning provide a strong foundation upon which our children can build as they continue to grow at CDS.

  • Jewish learning: Our goal is to seamlessly infuse Hebrew language and Jewish learning throughout the day. We learn about mitzvot as we care for our classroom, count in Hebrew as we line up, participate in school-wide holiday celebrations, and discover Judaism as we explore our interests.

  • School community: A unique advantage of our 3-year-old program is the connection developed with older children, who become friends, mentors, and role models throughout their years at Community Day School.

  • Parent-school-community partnership: We welcome parents, grandparents, siblings, extended family, and caring community members to spend time in our classroom—reading a story, sharing a passion, or just helping out.

Our experience with the Pre-K class has been phenomenal. The integration of education, imagination, and Jewish learning was inspiring. We truly felt like we created a family of families. When your child checks the calendar at the beginning of a school break and sadly exclaims that there are "eight whole days till I get to go back to school" you know you've got them in the right place.
