Parent Association

The Community Day School Parent Association fosters a sense of community throughout the school to help create a vibrant learning environment grounded in Jewish values. We accomplish this by welcoming new families, supporting and enriching CDS educational programs, encouraging volunteerism, raising funds, and providing a forum for idea exchange among parents, faculty, and administrators.

Mission statement

Enhance the CDS educational experience and support the goals of the school by engaging and empowering all families through meaningful and relevant activities and projects that foster community spirit and create a vibrant learning environment grounded in Jewish values.

Who is the PA?

The PA is all of us. Every parent at CDS is a member of the Parent Association, and our effectiveness is a function of the involvement of all parents. The PA Leadership Board consists of 16 enthusiastic and dedicated parents that are working hard to ensure that we have an incredible and productive school year. Additionally, we get strong support from our faculty and school administrators.

If you have already agreed to be a room parent, chair an event, or lead a fundraiser—thank you! Your dedication to the school and your willingness to give in any way that makes sense for youyour time, your energy, your talentwill help us to thrive. We always need parents who are willing to step forward and take leadership roles in organizing key events, as well as serving on our committees.

For questions or more information on how to get involved, contact Parent Association President Rona Kaufman.

At CDS, our teachers know most of the students (not just their own), as well as their siblings, parents, and grandparents. How many schools can say that? My children love their teachers and feel loved in return. That matters a lot to us. And that's what distinguishes our school: We not only educate students, we raise them.
