Middle School Sports

Middle School sports are an integral part of life at CDS. Participation on teams helps our students to develop positive physical, mental, and social skills. The Middle School program consists of a Varsity and a Junior Varsity team for some sports, while others consist of a single team. We are a member of the PIAA/WPIAL, which promotes sportsmanship, equal opportunity based on the size of the school, and ethical standards for all participants. Through these organizations, our teams are paired up with other private schools for games throughout the school year.

Teams practice and compete on our beautiful multi-purpose athletic field or in our gymnasium.  No matter which sports CDS students pursue, they benefit from heightened personal integrity, good sportsmanship, self-discipline, perseverance, self-confidence, an appreciation for competition, humility in loss, and the pride of a well-earned win. Interscholastic sports offered at CDS include: Cross Country, Soccer, Basketball, Lacrosse, Track, Ultimate Frisbee, and Baseball.

CDS sports were definitely one of my favorite parts of my time at CDS. I made friends with people I otherwise may not have been friends with, and it made my friendships stronger. All of the coaches were inclusive and helped everyone feel like they were part of the team, even if they weren’t the best at the sport.
