BuD Wechsler little Lions

The Bud Wechsler Little Lions program is a wonderful opportunity for CDS students in Grades 3-5 to learn the basic rules and develop skills in various sports. In this fun, non-competitive environment, students gain the confidence and love of the game necessary to excel in Middle School as a part of our competitive teams. The fundamentals learned through the Little Lions program are invaluable and help with the development of all skill levels.

Students participate in seasonal sports such as: Soccer, Cross-Country, Track, Lacrosse, and Field Hockey. We also have a Little Lions Cheer Team that performs at our Faculty vs. 8th Grade Student Basketball Game, as well as other school spirit events. These programs take place on our beautiful multi-purpose athletic fields or in our gymnasium.

The Little Lions program is underwritten by the generosity Jackie Wechsler in loving memory of Bud Wechsler.

CDS sports were definitely one of my favorite parts of my time at CDS. I made friends with people I otherwise may not have been friends with, and it made my friendships stronger. All of the coaches were inclusive and helped everyone feel like they were part of the team, even if they weren’t the best at the sport.
